Physiotherapist & Pilates Instructor

BPHTY (Otago), PGDipSEM (Otago), MNZSP

I am a physiotherapist and Pilates instructor based in Mount Maunganui. I aim to empower you to understand your body's anatomy and physiology, and to return to participation in the activities which are meaningful to you. I can help you to recover from an injury, to restore movement in your body, to breathe well, and to improve your muscle health.

I graduated from Otago University in 2006 with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy with distinction. Since graduating I have completed postgraduate training in both New Zealand and Australia. I have trained in Pilates for rehabilitation through Polestar Pilates, and am a BradCliff Breathing physiotherapist. In 2020 I graduated with distinction with a Postgraduate Diploma in Sport and Exercise Medicine.

I am experienced in managing musculoskeletal injuries, pre and post-operative rehabilitation, tendinopathy, sprains and strains, lower back pain, rotator cuff problems, hip and knee pain and stiffness, aches and pains related to stress and posture, and breathing pattern disorders.

I am happy to discuss whether Spring Physio & Well-Being is right for you and your goals, and I look forward to meeting you.

Spring Physio & Well-Being appointments are tailored to you and your goals. We offer in-person physiotherapy in Mount Maunganui, and online physiotherapy for anyone within Aotearoa New Zealand.

We offer many physiotherapy services such as BradCliff Breathing, exercise rehabilitation, injury prevention, injury management, massage, Pilates, pre-operative and post-operative physiotherapy, and proprioceptive taping. We can also order the things you need to facilitate your health and well-being journey, such as foam rollers, bands, balls, mats and more, so please ask.

We are ACC registered, and a Southern Cross Easy-claim provider.

We try to be as paper-less as possible. If you are able, please use our online forms which can be completed before your appointment.

At your appointment we will discuss what brings you in, and complete a thorough assessment to provide guidance for treatment. We will discuss your situation and assessment findings, form a treatment plan, and establish timeframes for recovery. We may refer you for investigations, such as an X-Ray, or for an appointment with a doctor, or an orthopaedic specialist if needed.

Physiotherapy treatments often incorporate a combination of education, problem solving, massage and mobilisation techniques, and supervised exercises. There will always be a home exercise programme for you to practice between appointments.

Wear some comfortable clothes that allow movement, and for your injury site to be seen. There is a changing room available.

If you are unsure if physiotherapy is appropriate for you, please phone or email me to discuss your situation.
