HI! I'M ILANA
I am a physiotherapist and Pilates instructor based in Mount Maunganui. I aim to work with you to quickly and effectively recover from injury, and to return to participation in the activities which are meaningful to you. I can help you to breathe well, restore movement in your body, and move efficiently.

I graduated from Otago University with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy with distinction in 2006. Since graduating I have completed postgraduate training in both New Zealand and Australia. I have trained in Pilates for rehabilitation through Polestar Pilates, and am a BradCliff Breathing physiotherapist. In 2020 I graduated with distinction with a Postgraduate Diploma in Sport and Exercise Medicine.
I am experienced in managing musculoskeletal injuries, pre and post-operative rehabilitation, lower back pain, Achilles tendinopathy, shoulder injuries and rotator cuff problems, hip and knee pain and stiffness, ankle sprains, calf strains, aches and pains related to stress and posture, and breathing pattern disorders.

I am happy to discuss whether Spring Physio & Well-Being is right for you and your goals, and I look forward to meeting you.

AT YOUR APPOINTMENT
Your physiotherapist will listen to what brings you in, complete a physiotherapy assessment, and discuss your situation and assessment findings with you. We will then form a treatment plan, and establish timeframes for recovery. You may be referred for investigations, such as an X-Ray or ultrasound scan, or for an appointment with a doctor, or an orthopaedic surgeon, if needed.
Physiotherapy treatments are specific to your injury or problem, but often incorporate a combination of education and discussion, massage and mobilisation techniques, and supervised exercises. There will always be a home exercise of some kind for you to practice between appointments.

Please wear some comfortable clothes that allow movement, and for your injury to be seen. There is a changing room available if needed.

If you are unsure if physiotherapy is appropriate for you, please phone or email us to discuss your situation.
